The training and extension Department of KFRI offers specialized training programmes related to various aspects of the bamboo sector like Propagation, Plantation management, Craft making, Resource Enhancement and Utilization, Bamboo preservation treatment, etc., to meet the requirement of various stakeholders.

KFRI is an approved training centre of the Ministry of Environment Forests, Government of India, for compulsory training courses and workshops. As we have the facilities like the bamboo nursery, bamboo primary processing centre, bambusetum, germplasm collections, bamboo waste management units, hands-on training programmes for various topics can be organised. The training facility has a modern lecture hall, seminar hall, meeting room, and computer hall with an internet facility. The International Guest House in Peechi, which has modern facilities, provides accommodation.
