The facility for bamboo waste in the primary processing unit is available at FRC, Velupadam, for managing waste generated from the Primary Processing Centre. The aim is to convert bamboo waste into pellets and explore the possibility of composting part of the bamboo waste.

Equipment such as biochar producing units, shredders, chipping, and pellet machines are available for pelletization, composting or conversion to biochar. Further processing into value-added products is under investigation.
